  1. Just rewatched all of Jacksons Middle Earth movies. But the Fellowship has a special place because I left the theater with one if the largest grins and heart-pumping I’ve ever had. The beautiful shots and so many great images. It was magical, worthy of Tolkiens world .

  2. One Ring to rule them all! I enjoyed the hell out of that trilogy, notably in their extended editions as I thought it did more with the story and gave more depth to some of the characters. Especially Boromir as it turns out that he was channeling his father and didn’t really want to have anything to do with the ring at first. The timing of this post is odd considering that Ian Holm just passed away as he played Bilbo in the trilogy.

    • I saw that! Sad to hear of Holm’s passing. As for the trilogy… magical and unforgettable. And you are so right, the extended editions add soooo much to the story.

  4. I rewatched this movie in the last month or so. (Spectacular, it goes without saying.)
The image here I like best is the one of the Hobbits surrounded by the Nazgul on the hilltop. A chilling moment.

  5. Even though Fellowship isn’t my favorite of the Rings trilogy to watch, it really is a perfect movie for what it had to do. Great set up, world building, never boring, Even though it was kick starting a franchise it felt like it had a purpose other than to start one. It makes me want to throw a copy of it at the people who made Artemis Fowl.

    • That is so well put and it encapsulates my feelings exactly. It had a very important task of setting up the trilogy and it does so beautifully. It’s not my favorite either but it really does do what it needs to. And so many memorable moments.

As for Artemis, i’m waiting for things to settle down in the office so I can read your review. But it sounds like we fall in the same camp with it too!
