Truly great movies leave indelible marks. It may be through an emotional connection to the story. It may be through a remarkable performance or a signature scene. But it could also be through the brilliant imagery that films carves into your mind. That’s what this feature is all about – highlighting great images from great movies. Today we look at an intensely moving Steven Spielberg classic.

Every shot of this movie is beautiful and powerful. The cinematography is excellent, you could literally pause the movie at any moment, print whatever is on screen, and hang it on the wall.
Thank you for your gallery!
I wrote about this movie some time ago, if you want you can read my review here:
You are so right! This movie has stuck with me since my first viewing. I’ve watched it several times since and it never disappoints.
A cool idea for a series, Keith! I think SL is a masterpiece. I love the stills you selected which pack a huge punch and capture the emotion of the scene. Great stuff!
The little girl in the red coat always gets me.
Same with me. That image is so startling still. Glad you enjoy the series. It’s about the fifth or sixth installment and it always reminds me of how powerful movie imagery can be.
Definitely one of the finest films ever made and so unsettling. The scene where the women are sent to the camp and it looks like they were about to be put into a gas chamber. Oh God, that messed me up in the worst way. I was getting scared of what was about to happen and then….. That is Spielberg at his best.
Oh it just destroys me every time I watch. I love revisiting it but I can’t too often. It’s just crushing but in the exact way it needs to be.
What a movie – one of those that sticks with you your whole life. You definitely shared some of the most chilling captures here!
You nailed it – it sticks with you your whole life. I’ll never forget it.
Great post! This movie is a masterpiece and I’ll never forget the little girl in the red coat. What they did by showing only her in color was extraordinary to me because I had never seen anything like that before.
That is probably the signature scene but for good reason. When we see her again….crushing.
Wiggle Pop! Big Show was awesome

I’ve never seen it, but it looks interesting. The 7th image from the bottom stood out to me most.
Hope you can give it a shot. It’s an extraordinary movie. It’s a tough watch though.
I might.
