It’s been seven years since a new Star Wars movie has released in theaters. The beloved franchise has steadily grown via animated and live-action streaming series, novels, video games, and so on. But for those of us who love seeing “The Galaxy Far, Far Away” on the big screen, it has been a painful drought. That changes in three months with the release of “The Mandalorian and Grogu”. This feature film follows three seasons of the popular Disney+ series “The Mandalorian”. And judging by the new trailer, we fans have a lot to look forward to.
Director Jon Favreau’s excitement over making his first Star Wars movie has been evident since it was first announced. And you can see it in the new trailer. “The Mandalorian and Grogu” looks to be a sprawling adventure, set upon some new planets and introducing some new characters to the universe. To LucasFilm’s credit, they’re still leaving the story details under wraps. But it looks as if Mando and Grogu are in for plenty of action and some unexpected threats. The trailer is full of new faces and some deep cuts for hardcore fans. I can’t wait!
“The Mandalorian and Grogu” soars into theaters on May 22nd. Check out the trailer below and let me know if you’ll be seeing it or taking a pass.

Is it going to be necessary to have watched the TV shows to understand this movie?
That’s the question in the forefront of my mind.
I would think to some degree since the two lead characters have only appeared in the streaming series. But how much is the question. I really don’t know. I can’t image it would be a hard prerequisite.
I’ll be honest, aside from the first season, The Mandalorian series left me pretty cold. This trailer doesn’t impress me in the slightest. In fact, this could very well be the first Star Wars movie that I’ll skip entirely. I’ll wait for reviews, and if they’re good enough, I’ll check it out on streaming. I’m more interested in Starfighter. Truth is, is that Star Wars has been skating on thin ice with me since The Rise of Skywalker.
It’s a day one must-see for me. I enjoyed all three seasons to varying degrees and I’m really interested in how this movie ends. Plus I’m just ready for Star Wars back on the big screen.
Nope will do.
But…But…Grogu! LOL
🙄🤣
😂😂😂
Is the Mandalorian series worth a watch? Question: when did Disney+ start adding 2 minute commercials every 10 minutes? It’s why I stopped watching HULU. I watched Badlands last night and was unpleasantly surprised by them.
Yes! The Mandalorian is very much worth a watch. I really enjoyed it. It seems Season 3’is the most controversial as it ventures off into several SW universe side stories. But as a die-hard SW fan, the enjoyed it too.
As for the commercials, I’m not sure. I wonder if they have restructured their subscription tiers to include ads. These streamers have found they can double their money by making customers pay a subscription while getting ad revenue. It’s kind of crappy.
OK cool on The Mandalorian, will give it a watch. I get Disney+ as a perk with my phone, but if I have to sit through so many ads it is not much of a perk. I really despise commercials, which are a form of brainwashing as far as I’m concerned, and I don’t appreciate corporate sneaky money-grubbing.
I know what you mean. The ‘subscription with ads’ nonsense really irks me.
Maybe when they lose enough subscribers they will realize it was a bad business move?
I’ve been trying to follow a few Star Wars TV series, but it’s challenging for me. They often seem very childish. In my opinion, the most mature one is Andor, which I also like the most.
Some are definitely aimed at wider audiences than others. I love its long-running interconnectivity. And they are still finding good stories to tell on its vast timeline.

Most definitely
This post inspired me to bring out my dusty 3 volume stars wars encyclopedia. Haven’t really read them enough. But Boba Fett and Mandalorian seem to have very interesting history. Will be seeing this.
They certainly do. The whole story of Mandalore is pretty wild and interesting. It has a dense history.
