Truly great movies leave indelible marks. It may be through an emotional connection to the story. It may be through a remarkable performance or a signature scene. But it could also be through the brilliant imagery that films carves into your mind. That’s what this feature is all about – highlighting great images from great movies. Today we have a great one from 2010.
So what are thoughts on this fantastic bit of sci-fi from Christopher Nolan? Is there a particular image that stands out to you? There truly are more than a simple post can contain. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
The bending street is one of my all-time favorite moments… but I don’t know if counts since it’s a moving image, not a still image.
The still shot captures it pretty well. Great scene!
This movie rules so hard. JGL’s fight scene in the rotating hallway was madness!
Ooooooh yes. That fight scene was insane. I truly adore the film. Not sure if you read my Top Films of the Decade (so far) posts, but Inception had a pretty prominent spot.
This movie is so complex; I’m still wondering if I fully grasped it!
I will always remember how powerful a moment it was when Cobb finally wakes up on the plane. That still gives me goosebumps now just with the mere mention of it. You’re so right thiugh, there are far too many great shots from this flick to fit into one single post 😉
Man, let me be honest. I get misty every single time I watch that ending. I have seen it so many times and it really gets to me. The perfect camera work and editing. And the phenomenal music from Zimmer. LOVE IT.
It’s really one of the great science fiction thrillers of this century. I absolutely love it too, and why it’s not in my DVD collection yet is inexcusable.
For sure. You can get a quality Blu-Ray copy really cheap now.
Easily one of my favorite films ever and always fun to watch. Especially with the way the ensemble works together and how Ellen Page’s character is sort of the film’s Greek Chorus when she asks “who’s head are we going into?” Plus, who cannot enjoy the look she had after JGL kissed her?
So good. The #1 movie from my Decade series I recently did. It is one of those rare films I can watch over and over again. A masterpiece. And is it this way with you – I can literally visualize so many tremendous sequences from the film. They are forever carved in my mind.
Such a great movie, this one is, with so many great shots. The bending street is just an amazing cinematic moment and the spinning top is iconic. Great post.
It is truly brilliant filmmaking. I remember seeing it in the theater. When the credits began to scroll I sat in utter silence. Pretty overwhelmed. So good.
This is a really good movie. I’ve never been able to review it – it hurt my brain quite a bit 🙂
My wife had similar reactions. Not her favorite. I watch it a lot thinking maybe it will resonate with her at some point! 😉
I have too much love for this movie, so obviously I loved this post! One of my absolute favourite scenes from the movie is when he is standing in that room and the water starts exploding through the walls. Goosebumps. Then again, there was just so much in this movie that was amazing. Also loved that zero gravity fight, it was phenomenally crafted!
Wasn’t it full of absolutely incredible shots and sequences? One of the best casts and Nolan’s direction is top notch. For me it is truly a perfect film.
One hundred percent in agreement! An all time favourite of mine, I must say.
Yep. I adore it. Incredibly smart both narratively and visually.
Very unoriginal but I love the image of the totem just spinning at the end. It sums up the whole film.
Oh you’re 100% right. That scene has such an effect on me. Is he back with his kids? Is he lost in limbo? The hopeful father in me has his opinion! 🙂
Great movie, man. Just looking at these images has ignited the need for a rewatch. I remember being blown away when I walked out the cinema.
Same here bro. Totally blown away. I sat in my seat for a few minutes once the credits scrolled. Processing and collecting myself. It had a pretty strong effect on me. Not sure if you followed my Best of the Decade (so far) series but Inception had a pretty strong showing.
I’m a bit all over the place when following posts brother. But that sounds interesting, I’ll stop by on that.
I’m completely with you. So many other things I’ve been engaged with.
I love this movie so much! I think I saw it 2 or 3 times in theaters, it’s easily one of my all time favs.
YEP! Same here. It is a masterpiece in my estimation. Can’t praise it enough.
I just listened to the soundtrack last night Keith! This movie is an eye and ear candy for sure. LOVE the images you featured here.
Thanks Ruth! Sooooo good. It falls into the category of ‘movies I can watch anytime/anywhere!

Oh wow, you really picked out some of the most spellbinding parts from this movie.
Isn’t it great? So many gems to chose from.
That’s what makes a movie, when it conjures up so many memorable images in the mind.

I liked the ambiguous ending shot – and just about everything else.
