So I’ve found myself falling behind in my efforts to highlight some of the very best movie posters. I’m a sucker for these things and I had to take a moment to share the brand new poster for the upcoming film “Alien: Romulus”. This long awaited seventh installment in the beloved Alien franchise is directed by Fede Álvarez, known best for his 2013 “Evil Dead” remake and 2016’s “Don’t Breathe”. Ridley Scott produces the film which is said to take place between “Alien” (1979) and “Aliens” (1986). How connected “Romulus” is to either of those movie’s remains to be seen. Either way I’m excited.
“Alien: Romulus” was originally slated to release on Hulu but will now be getting the full theatrical treatment on August 16th. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Priscilla”), David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. Check out the killer new poster and let me know what you think…

The poster looks decent. I wish I could say I’m hopeful about how it measures up against most of the rest of them in the series. Having a bunch of newbies, none of the actors from the old ones, a director without much claim to quality filmmaking, and somehow set in between Alien and Aliens (which already has a perfect segue between them) has me doubtful. Of course I’ll watch it and hope to be pleasantly surprised by it either as a seamless integration into the series or as a separate knockoff.
I’m pretty excited. I liked both his Evil Dead remake and Lights Out. And the new teaser looked pretty intense. We shall see.
I just saw the teaser for the film and it looks cool. I hope it’s better than it predecessors.
Very cool. Love this poster as well.
The trailer hints at both Alien and Aliens in its style and contents. I’m excited. However, I’ve got to have some reservations to keep my expectations intact… what I don’t want is a homage to those films but something that feels like an organic part of the story.
100% with you on every point. I’ve gotta keep things in check.
I’m a big movie poster fan as well, so if you want to continue posting posters I am here for all of it. I like this poster a lot, in part because I just saw a trailer for this film and am really excited about getting a better film in this franchise since the last couple. I believe I read the film is supposed to be “set” between Alien and Aliens. That has me very intrigued as to what we’re gonna get here.
That is indeed where it is set although its connection to those movies is unknown. I can see where it would fit nicely in that timeline.
