Easily among the most anticipated films of 2025 in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic 1818 novel “Frankenstein”. It seems like the perfect fit for the Academy Award-winning filmmaker who both writes and directs this well traveled tale. He brings together an all-star cast that includes Oscar Isaac as the brilliant but egotistical Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as his macabre creation, and Mia Goth as Victor’s fiancé. The film also stars Christoph Waltz, Lars Mikkelsen, Felix Kammerer, Ralph Ineson, Burn Gorman, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Christian Convery, and Lauren Collins.
“Frankenstein” will be coming to select theaters on October 17th followed by its Netflix streaming release on November 7th. To get audiences ready, Netflix has released some killer new teaser key art which I’m sure it’s just the start of their promotion for what could be a significant awards contender. Check them out below.
Are you excited for Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein”?

I don’t want to see this in theaters. I NEED to see this in theaters. It’s Guillermito. I love Guillermito.
Absolutely. I just hope we fall into the select theaters categories.
Great question for this movie Keith. Instinctively or the Pavlovian reply would be Yes. But upon further thought, i find 2 general patterns. One is that movies often struggle to live up to their hype. For example, I decided to see 28 years Later expecting it to easily match its predecessors.
and 2, a dwindling appreciation for Del Toro. I find most of his films to lack interest for repeated viewing imo.
I just hope that he controls the production values for Frankenstein and focuses on the humanity of the characters
I tend to like more of GDT than dislike. For instance, I loved both Nightmare Alley and Pinocchio. But I really disliked The Shape of Water. I guess we shall see which we get.
I have thought about rewatching Nightmare Alley
I remember thinking that it didn’t have the necessary impact given it’s theme. But it definitely had a sinister undercurrent
I’ll see Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein if you review the YouTube film Three Railway Engines for NWRKRIS.
I don’t even know what that is.🤣🤣🤣
It’s a Thomas & Friends fan film
Oscar Isaac isn’t ghoulish enough to play Dr. F, but I’ll take him 😉 Anything del Toro I will watch. Mia Goth as the fiance sounds simply perfect. Can’t wait!
I don’t know. I think Isaac has a pretty big dramatic range. I think he can pull it off. 🤞🏼
