Today Paramount Pictures dropped a new trailer for the highly anticipated blockbuster “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”. The edge-of-your-seat franchise is apparently coming to an end with an action-packed two-movie finale set to hit theaters. The two films were shot back-to-back with part one releasing this July and part two tentatively aiming for June 28, 2024.
Of course Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt as does writer-director Christopher McQuarrie who has been a pivotal part of the franchise’s enduring success. There are many other returning faces including Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Frederick Schmidt, and Henry Czerny. And then there are the exciting new names that include Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham among others.
One thing the series has become known for are the incredible spare-no-expense action scenes that are highlighted by some incredible practical stunt-work often performed by Tom Cruise himself. In the new trailer we see the film’s star driving a motorcycle off the top of a mountain, fighting on top of a speeding steam train, and driving at breakneck speeds through the streets of Rome. And this is just a taste of what’s to come.

I saw the filming of that motorbike off a mountain stunt and how he did it. The guy is fearless.
I saw that too. And the fact that he did that jump MULTIPLE TIMES!!!!

OH MY! Of course. It’s my favorite franchise. More than Bond. More than Marvel. More than Star Trek? hmmm. Maybe!
It has been top-to-bottom incredible. And it only seems to be getting better. Best thing is we don’t have long to wait long. About a month. I’m so ready.
Trailer delivered in all the ways you want it to. This franchise has been excellent and truly has set the bar. I just recently watched all of them and they are truly thrilling to watch. Great action , cool stories and Cruise plus the rest of the cast are excellent. Can’t wait!
Amen to everything you said. “Fallout” was my #1 film that year so needless to say my expectations are high. But these movies always deliver. I’m excited.

The Grand Tour’s coming back this June.
You’ve got to admire Cruise, he is 60 and still doing action packed movies, and performing a good chunk of the stunts himself. The guy is unstoppable.
But the movie, I don’t think I will watch this one, for the same reason I didn’t watch the last Bond movie: they are all the same. Nothing new here.
I can respect that. For me the M:I movies have yet to miss their mark, especially since McQuarrie came onboard. I’ll be there opening weekend.
