Mads Mikkelsen? Sold! That’s all I needed to be interested in the upcoming film “Riders of Justice”. This Danish action-black comedy mix comes from writer-director Anders Thomas Jensen who previously worked with Mikkelsen on the underrated Western “The Salvation” and the astutely titled “Men & Chicken”. With “Riders” Jensen looks to be pulling from both of those movies, meaning we are in for some gritty violence along with some wacky spurts of dark humor. The new trailer certainly backs that up.
Mikkelsen plays a soldier returning from deployment after his wife is killed in a subway explosion. Late one evening a survivor shows up at his house and tells him the explosion wasn’t an accident. He claims it was a bombing meant to kill the brother of a notorious biker gang leader. This sets the grizzled Mikkelsen on a violent revenge-fueled quest to uncover those responsible and (of course) make them pay. I love the look of this and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more layers to the story than what the trailer shows us.

I saw this trailer yesterday and…. OH HELL YEAH!!!!! Mads Mikkelsen going nuts and bringing in a few men with him to kill a bunch of baddies. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! I WANNA FUCKING SEE THAT!!!!
I’m soooo into this. Mads is easily among the top 5 working actors in my opinion.
Oh hell yeah. And last night, I saw some stuff on Twitter about Sebastian Stan wanting play “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair in a bio-pic about Flair with Paul Walter Hauser as “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson. If they get the right people involved with the film and some serious money… then SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY because I want to see that. I now have to think of some serious dream-casting for that film. Who has to play Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham, Tully Blanchard, Ole Anderson, James JJ Dillon, Magnum TA, Ricky Steamboat, and all of these people.
Stan as Flair? I certainly wouldn’t write that off, but if I’m honest I have to say I’m having a hard time visualizing that.
Hauser suggests having Ethan Suplee as Ole Anderson and Ben Foster as Tully Blanchard. I don’t know if they can all look like those men in their prime but it could be fun to watch.
And they would have to dig into the Ole vs. Vince McMahon feud.

Didn’t see that. Don’t do much TV. It always sounded interesting.
Truly so much more than what the trailer gives – this movie is hands down my fav of 2021 so far and I have been asked to hold my review till May – but it’s really hard as I want to tell everyone about it..but it’s too good to spoil and all I can say is I’m so glad Mads continues to do movies in his own language as this would not transfer well to English. It’s so much more than what they show here.. a must-see!!!

Haha, totally agree – anything that features Mads is an instant draw! He’s actually in the cast of a PS4 game I’m currently playing called ‘Death Stranding’ along with Norman Reedus, Lea Sydoux…and Guillermo Del Toro (although I think he just provides his likeness for the performance capture). Whoops, sorry about the tangent!
Oh yes, Kojima’s game. I think you’re right, it seems like I read it was just his likeness. I’m really pumped for this movie. Screener arrived yesterday so I’ll be seeing it this weekend.
