I’ve always enjoyed this film as I often tend to think that Stuart Wilson is extremely underrated as he’s managed to play 2 great villains in franchises such as this one and Lethal Weapon 3. The sequel was disappointing and kind of a mess despite having some fun moments.
Let’s hope if they revive the franchise. Get a Mexican actor to play Zorro in an origin story. It doesn’t have to be Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna since they’re both busy being in major cinematic universes/franchises. DO NOT GET FUCKING DIEGO BONETA!!!! My father said some things about him ever since he saw him in that bio-pic on Pele and…. well… cancel culture would have a hard time trying to get him to shut up as they’re more likely to be yelled and such if they dealt with him.
I enjoyed it too. It had been a long time before revisiting. The trio of Bandares, Hopkins, and Zeta-Jones were an absolute blast. And something like this would be such a breath of fresh air right now as so many of the franchise movies kinda fall into the same categories.
I’d like to see a new Zorro movie.
That’d be fun!
It should be extra fun as a Scooby-Doo crossover.
