A new Wes Anderson movie is always going to be on my must-see list. His latest feature “Asteroid City” is looking to be right up my alley. The film is set in a fictional American desert town circa 1955 where students and their parents from across the country gather for an annual junior Stargazer convention. An eye-catching group of Anderson regulars and some striking new faces fill out the star-studded cast. Meanwhile the setting and concept alone looks to be prime territory for a Wes Anderson comedy. With the first trailer landing today, Anderson and Focus Features have dropped the movie poster. Whatcha think?

WTH? That’s a cast and a half!
And yet no Bill Murray lol. Apparently now Wes Anderson is super woke
First time no Bill Murray in a while. Maybe he was locked up with the MCU.
THR says it’s COVID. And I’m sure it’s really what happened, he was unable to go when principal photography rolled around and so he had to sit it out. I’m not into conspiracy theories but there’s just weird timing with the reports that have come out about how Murray’s on-set behavior has been flagged up and then he misses out on Asteroid City with illness. But that’s all it is, bad timing. Or at least I hope.

Oh dear. I love the colour palette, it’s photographically stunning.
It really is. It’s his quirky since of humor that she struggles with. It’s right up my alley though.

Jeffrey Wright was there – an Anderson favorite. And Tony Revolori is of Guatemalan descent I believe. And I do know Steven Park and Hong Chau are also in the cast.

I didn’t think you did, Keith, it was me commenting on an impulse and after thinking about it I remember he has had a large number of non-whites in his movies.
