It can’t only be reviews, Phenomenal 5 lists, and commentaries, right? Know Your Movies is all about having fun. Here’s how it works: I’ll share a single shot from a movie. It can be extremely serious or completely absurd. After that I’ll provide you with three hints. The rest is up to you. Hop in the comments section and share your guess as well as any thoughts or memories you have on the movie, actor/actress, or the scene. It should be a blast.
Today’s image is from a film that has become a true classic. So here’s the shot. Three hints will follow.
Hint 1: Released in 1946
Hint 2: Was considered a flop when first released
Hint 3: The film originated from a greeting card
Now head to the comments and share your guess. Pretty obvious, right? I would also love to hear your thoughts on the film, the scene, or anything else related to it. The correct answer will be announced first on my Twitter feed (@KeithandMovies for those who want to follow). Now feel free to guess and discuss this movie classic.
Either It’s a Wonderful Life or Dirty Harry.
They both are strikingly similiar aren’t they? 😉
I knew the movie (which I’m not naming so as to keep the game alive for future visitors) from the names on the newspaper. Also previously knew the first two hints, but the third is news to me.
Fascinating from whence people derive their ideas. 🙂
I thought showing the newspaper was a cool way of doing this one. There are certainly clues there. And I’m with you. The greeting card thing is pretty cool.
Do you know what was on the greeting card? The title of the film?
And agreed the newspaper was a good image to pick. 😉
It’s actually a play on words there. But the more I look at it the more unfair it seems. I may need to reword it in the interest of fairness.
It does not ring bells with me. Without googling I would probably guess something like Mr.Smith Goes to Washington.
Not too far off! 😉
You’ve got me, man! I’m stumped!
ALRIGHT!!! I think I finally put one up that isn’t so obvious. LOL
Is it Freddy got Fingered?
I would love to say ‘yes’ but……..
My wife watched this a couple of days ago 😉
Aha! So it was pretty fresh on your mind.
It’s a Wonderful Life
Bailey…that’s the clue. Has to be It’s a Wonderful Life.
😀
way to easy. lol. I have seen this movie so many times I could quote it word for word. “I wish I had a million dollars, Hot dog!”
My favorite line: “You look like the kind of angel I’d get”.
It’s nuts how such an iconic film was considered a flop back then. It’s such a wonderful movie 😉 This is an easy one Keith, It’s a Wonderful Life!
I agree 100%! And guess what…I’m seeing it on the big screen tomorrow. Can’t wait! Oh, and there will be more on this movie on Friday (hint, hint, teaser)!
Oh very cool! Is it one of those TCM re-release thing? I saw Casablanca on the big screen last year.
No it’s just a special engagement. This theater has been showing an older Christmas movie every Wednesday for the past few weeks. Really cool.
Best. Christmas. Film. Ever.
110% agree with you. And guess what, I’ll be seeing it on the big screen tomorrow night!
Well jel!
It’s A Wonderful Life – only watch it every Christmas…and July. 😀
And July? Nice!!!!
Too late to impress anyone with my film knowledge as everyone has beaten me to it 😉 Wouldn’t be Christmas without a viewing!
Following to get in there earlier next time!
In with you! And I’m actually getting to see it on the big screen tonight! So excited.
I’m jealous!
Feel like a bit of a leper for saying this, but while I liked the film, I don’t quite get the following it has!
NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! 😉
…It’s A Wonderful Life (the name on the newspaper is the dead giveaway).
Exactly!!! That was one of my favorites of these posts. The clues are right there.
