First Glance: “Tenet”

Without question there is no other movie set for 2020 that excites me more than Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet”. I think it’s safe to say I’m a genuine Nolan fan. This is no exaggeration, his last five films all ended up being my #1 movie for their respected year. So it goes without saying that I’m all over anything he does. And after much not-so-patient anticipation on my part, Warner Brothers has finally dropped the first full trailer.

Nolan knows how to tease his movies and this one is no different. The trailer offers so much mystery and intrigue without spoiling a single ounce of plot. John David Washington looks right at home in Nolan’s twisty, time-altering world and several other great faces are scattered throughout. “Tenet” has been called Nolan’s most ambitious film to date and our first look at it shows us that we have a lot to look forward to.

“Tenet” is set to release July 17, 2020. Check out the trailer below and let me know if you’ll be seeing it (I hope you will) or taking a pass.

  1. They can’t even spelt it right. Half them letters is upside down. They need to be put right side uppards so we can read it. I ain’t going to be watching that trash.

  2. OK, I’ve been having issues on what film I’m excited for to come out in 2020. Not anymore. Nolan often brings it and this feels like it’s no different at all as it feels like a cousin of Inception. I’m fucking in. Plus, I really enjoyed Dunkirk.

  3. I always have to laugh when movies have a car flip as unrealistically as possible. It ruins the moment for me.

Other than that, this looks awesome. Looks tense, and Nolan can certainly do tense – Dunkirk had me gripping the seat handles at the cinema, I didn’t realise until it finished!!

I love that actor who says the line ‘Welcome to the Afterlife’. Don’t know his name but I remember really liking him in… something

I recognise that black dude but can’t think of a name. It isn’t the guy from 12 Years a Slave is it? Chitwel something? Whatever happened to that guy?…

Anyways that trailer looks awesome. Though I refuse to watch it again hehe, one good thing about a horrible horrible memory is I can watch trailers and think “I’ll like that” abut then a few weeks later I’ve totally forgotten it haha.

Thanks for yet another heads up on a movie mate, I’m still psyched for Antlers too, as is my Dad 😀

  4. I’m SUPER excited for this too, Keith!! I’ve watched the trailer like a dozen times and even more excited after seeing the 6-minute clip after Rise of Skywalker!
